LAW OF GENESIS OF STRUCTURE

"Any process of COMMUNICATION among the components or a SYSTEM, once initiated and maintained with some regularity, leads to the genesis of (social) STRUCTURE (among communicators) within that system" (Krippendorff). The law presupposes that the individual components exhibit some regularities (e.g., conditional preferences, statistical biases in response to stimuli, rational behavior) and participate in the system for some time. The speed of structural genesis increasing with the complexity of the communicationS, with the number of participating communicators, and with the length in time of the process. The speed decreases with the level of awareness and the number of messages controlled by each communicator. However, the law holds irrespective of whether the result is anticipated or desirable (Krippendorff). (see self-organization). (Krippendorff)
